Volunteer Committees

The Nigerians Physicians Advocacy Group committees are sub-sections of NPAG and assist the executives in the smooth running of the organization. The committees include;

Fundraising Committee

The Nigerian Physician Advocacy Group (NPAG)

The success of our mission for change largely depends on our ability to raise the necessary capital to complete our projects. The fundraising committee is responsible for planning and executing our fundraising events and initiatives. Members of this committee will:

  • Assist NPAG establish and maintain our donor’s database
  • Regularly reach out to new and existing donors during fundraising campaigns
  • Plan and execute fundraising events.

Committee members will work with the EXCO to set our target fundraising budget for each fiscal year.

This committee will be led by a chair (executive officer) and co-chair (committee member).

Education Committee

The Nigerian Physician Advocacy Group (NPAG)

Educating the general public, our partnering organizations and NPAG members on community projects. The education committee is responsible for:

  • Creating our education campaigns for a given target audience and public health policy statements i.e.: if/when NPAG serves in a health advisory role. If a public health outreach campaign is required for a project, the education committee will determine the content to be shared for educating the given audience.
  • The education committee will also work with the legislative committee and EXCO as needed to create awareness campaigns for NPAG members.

This committee will also work with the EXCO to provide oversight of each project of execution and its outcomes.

This committee will be led by a chair (executive officer) and co-chair (committee member).

Legislative Committee

The Nigerian Physician Advocacy Group (NPAG)

Advocacy and legislation is the core of NPAG. The legislative committee is responsible for proposing new legislative actions for NPAG to pursue. Thus, it is the responsibility of the legislative committee members to remain current in the legislative health/ political climate of Nigeria and USA.

Legislative actions include:

  • Formulating press releases and position statements on behalf NPAG that will be disseminated to local/state/federal US and Nigerian governments or media;
  • Working with political strategists to formulate action plans for a given legislative platform;
  • Creating and enforcing lobbying strategy for US/Nigeria’s political climate;
  • Drafting/sponsoring bill proposals for adoption by US/Nigeria’s federal/state/local governments.

This committee will also work with the EXCO to provide oversight of each project of execution and its outcomes.
