An important aspect of building a healthy nation are its’ governing principles. NPAG believes that we are one human race made up of different ethnic/tribal and socioeconomic groups. Social problems arise with marginalization of any one group. Apt leadership ensures fair representation for all, providing basic human rights to all citizens without discrimination. Therefore, a significant task for NPAG is to advocate and propose legislation relevant to fulfilling our vision of a healthy Nigeria.
SAVE A LIFE CAMPAIGN
The National Surgical, Obstetrics, Anaesthesia & Nursing Plan (NSOANP) subcommittee of the Federal Ministry of Health has been charged with rehabilitating Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure. This plan details Nigeria's need in many sectors including the pre-hospital/emergency care arena. NPAG will collaborate with the NSOANP subcommittee on a 5-year plan to enhance prehospital emergency care through our Save a Life campaign.
CLEAN WATER INITIATIVE
Water borne diseases coupled with inadequate waste management continues to be a major cause of mortality and loss of economic productivity in most rural parts of Nigeria. It is the responsibility of the local government to provide access to basic amenities including clean water. The NPAG + SHIFT Nigeria Aliade community project is a collaborative effort designed to implement strategies that will stimulate community development by Aliade community residents as well as empower residents to hold their local leaders accountable.
